here i go again...
i told my bestfriend that i was hitting the sack because of a tiresome day. but i stumbled upon this DVD i bought last weekend in downtown bangkok. it's called No Regret (Huhwihaji Anha). a Korean gay movie that centers on the love affair between a soon-to-be-married wealthy man and an escort.
whew! it was such a whirlwind--it blew me away!
this is (almost) the same feeling i got after i have seen Formula 17 (Taiwan) and Latter Days (US) last year. beautiful, beautiful story!
i have always wondered why there's such an upsurge of everything-Korean in every tellie in Asia; now i know it. Korean filmmakers (and actors) know how to make a simple plot go a long way... way way down your spine, legs (till it makes your knees weak) then soar up to your heart with a killer homerun.
whew!
truly, staying up this late for this kind of movie is absolutely no regret.
i hope you take this down as a recommendation. i suck at movie reviews. but when i make one, i have no regrets of suggesting. hihihihi
